The neuroscience of learning has been ignored by teacher training courses in Australia yet is a lynchpin of effective education. One component is Cognitive Load Theory (CLT) that while basic in definition, is harder for teachers to use in practice. We talk with CLT practitioner Sam Sterrett from Scotch College in Western Australia about what CLT means for the teaching profession.
