Host: Well, hello everyone, and welcome to Marking the Role Episode 31. My name is Phil Dye. I'm your host. We're coming to you from a little place called Thirroul, which is around about 80-90km south of Sydney on the east coast of Australia. But the content here is really relevant to all teachers and certainly all parents as well.
We're very excited in Australia at the moment because our women's football team, the Matildas, have just got through the round of 16 and into the quarterfinals of the Women's World Cup and we're exceptionally proud of them.
Our last topic was on direct instruction and explicit direct instruction, and it had the most downloads of all of our episodes ever, and we plan on having more of those sorts of episodes to help teachers navigate the new ways of that you're expected to teach. But this episode is on something very different.
Around about nine months ago, we had an episode - episode 20, which looked at the rise of gender dysphoria among Australian school students. Now that's not isolated to Australia, that's worldwide and this podcast is not anti-trans at all, but we are anti gender ideology in schools. So to have trans ideology as a contagion in schools often started by 1 or 2 students and then other students come on board because it gives those others a sense of fame that they're doing something a little bit different.
